Backend Software Engineer

Analyze, design, and develop mission-critical, cloud-native enterprise backend services for a leading passenger rail transportation client.

• Lead technical analysis and architecture for complex, large-scale IT projects, collaborating with clients and stakeholders to define requirements.
• Design, build, test, and implement robust, high-performance backend systems using Java 17, Spring Boot, and AWS services.
• Develop event-driven backend services for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions.
• Provide ongoing production support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all projects and services.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Code Pipeline, and CloudFormation.
• Utilize automated testing frameworks (e.g., Junit, Mockito, Cucumber, Playwright) to ensure code quality and system integrity.
• Apply knowledge of cloud-native development, AWS integrations, application security, and the Twelve-Factor Application Methodology.
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
