Associate Scientist, Data II

We are seeking an experienced AI Data Scientist II to join our innovativeFAiMTeam at AbbVie Pharmaceuticals.This position is an opportunityto join a teamand work at the intersection of machine learning and artificial intelligence within the Global Therapeutics space at AbbVie.In this role, you willleveragecutting-edgeAI technologies to transform our clinical data operations and drive pharmaceutical innovation. The ideal candidate will combine strong technicalexpertiseand development leadershipwith clinical science knowledge tocreatesolutions that accelerate drug discovery and improve patient outcomes.

This role will work collaboratively with technology and business groups to perform analyses and implement technologies to deliver precise, reliable, and reproducible solutionsin a timely manneras a developmentlead.Also, this role will need to demonstrate technical precision and strong data science skills.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-driven solutions to solve complex clinical and pharmaceutical challenges.
• Develop andmaintainbackend systems usingFastAPIfor robust data processing pipelines.
• Develop automationsutilizingRobotic Process Automation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical scientists, IT, and business stakeholderstoincludetechnical timelines and planning.
• Lead multiple concurrent projects whilemaintainingexceptional quality standards.
• Translate complex technical concepts into accessible insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Build andmaintainrelationships with internalteamsand external vendors to stay informed on AI trends and best practices.
• Independently design and develop business technology solutions to answer scientific or business questions through integration, visualization, and analysis of data.
• Demonstrateproficiencyacross a range of technologies related to storage, transfer, integration, visualization, and analysis of large and complex data sets.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare business andutilizethis knowledge in the rapid advancement of agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions.
• Effectively organize and present projectobjectivesand progress. Contribute to technical publications and presentations.

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field with 2 years' experience; or Masters Degree 0years' experience
• Demonstrated experience applying AI/ML in clinical or pharmaceutical contexts
• Hands-on experience usinglarge language models and machine learning algorithms
• Strong programming skills in Python with emphasis on data science libraries
• Backend development experience usingFastAPI
• Experience withKnowledge Graphsand associated Python packages
• Experience building applications on AWS infrastructurespecifically ECS
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred:

• Masters degree preferred
• 5years' experience preferred
