Job description

HII - Mission Technologies is currently seeking a Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to work out of Fairfax, VA in support of the DoD/DoW Advana War Data Platform designed to aggregate operational, intelligence, logistics, and sensor data from multiple domains, enable Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) by providing a common data fabric, and support AI/ML applications for predictive analytics, targeting, and mission planning., * Executes day-to-day cybersecurity operations supporting mission systems across Department of Defense unclassified and classified environments.

  • Implements and validates technical security controls in alignment with Risk Management Framework requirements and approved security baselines.

  • Conducts vulnerability scanning, configuration validation, and compliance checks using tools such as Tenable, Splunk, SCAP scanners, Active Directory, VMware, and endpoint security platforms.

  • Processes security-related change requests, validating technical impact, documenting control changes, and coordinating implementation with system administrators and DevSecOps teams.

  • Maintains continuous monitoring evidence, including configuration artifacts, scan results, control test outputs, and incident documentation, within eMASS and SharePoint repositories.

  • Investigates cybersecurity incidents, anomalous activity, and policy violations, supporting containment, remediation, and reporting activities in coordination with incident response teams and Senior Information Security Officers.

  • Tracks vulnerability remediation actions, verifies corrective measures, and updates security documentation to reflect current system posture.

  • Supports control testing activities, assessment preparation, and audit engagements by providing accurate, traceable technical evidence.

  • Contributes to operational readiness, system availability, and mission assurance through disciplined execution, timely remediation, and accurate security documentation.

  • Reinforces program values of accountability, operational excellence, and protection of information supporting Combatant Command, Defense Agency, and joint mission operations.

Requirements

  • 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.

  • IAM I (CompTIA Security+ CE, ISC² CAP, ISC² SSCP, or GIAC GSLC) certified

  • Must have an active Secret security clearance

  • US Citizenship

Preferred Requirements

  • Familiarity with Advana architecture, Palantir Foundry, or similar data integration platforms

  • Experience with data governance frameworks and metadata management

  • Agile/SAFe delivery experience in secure environments

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
