Data Analyst

The Data Analyst supports the Office of Business, Community, and Government Engagement through the collection, organization, validation, analysis, visualization, and reporting of data related to employer engagement activity, workforce trends, student participation, and institutional outcomes.

Reporting to the Data Analytics Manager, role is responsible for maintaining accurate data records, improving data workflows, producing recurring reports and dashboards, and supporting the development of reporting solutions that inform continuous improvement. This position requires an understanding of how operational data is generated, structured, and applied to support decision-making across the university.

The Data Analyst supports the development of reporting tools that allow the Office of Business, Community, and Government Engagement to measure impact, identify opportunities, and continuously improve engagement strategies.

Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain and enhance reports, dashboards, data sets, data models, and other business intelligence solutions to support operational and institutional reporting needs.

Collect, clean, validate, enrich, and integrate data from multiple sources related to employer engagement activity, student participation, internships, and post-graduation outcomes.

Support the development and maintenance of repeatable reporting processes and data workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy of recurring reports.

Identify data quality issues, reporting gaps, and opportunities for process improvements; recommend solutions to improve data integrity and usability.

Produce routine reports, summaries, and datasets to support the Office of Engagement's planning, assessment and decision-making need.

Assist with labor market and workforce data collection and analysis to support data-informed employer engagement strategies.

Ensure accurate and timely data entry and documentation within CRM systems and related databases.

Develop and update data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Power BI or similar platforms to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Partner with the Data Analytics Manager and campus stakeholders to translate operational questions into meaningful metrics, reporting solutions and analytical outputs that support decision making.

Minimum Education required:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Experience required:

Demonstrated experience working with data collection, data management, reporting, visualization, or business intelligence processes.

Experience using spreadsheets, databases, reporting tools, or analytics platforms to organize, analyze, and communicate information from multiple sources.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in data analytics, information systems, business analytics, statistics, economics, public policy, institutional research, or a related field.

Experience developing dashboards, reports, data models, or automated reporting solutions using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.

Experience writing SQL queries or working with relational databases to extract, transform, and analyze data.

Experience working with CRM systems, enterprise systems, career platforms, or student information systems to support operational reporting and data tracking.

Experience supporting system implementations, integrations, data workflows, or process improvement initiatives.

Experience working in higher education, workforce development, employer engagement, or institutional research environments.

Familiarity with labor market and workforce data sources and an interest in applying workforce insights to support employer engagement strategies.

Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences and translate business needs into data solutions., Note: To the extent that this position involves research, work, or access to critical infrastructure as referenced in Executive Order GA-48, being hired for and continuing to be employed in this position requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.
