We are seeking an experienced Healthcare IT Project Manager to lead healthcare systems operational management activities supporting large-scale enterprise healthcare technology environments. This role provides the opportunity to manage critical system operations, coordinate cross-functional teams, and support complex healthcare system implementations and enhancements., The IT Healthcare Consultant - Project Manager will serve as a key operational leader responsible for managing healthcare system operations, production support, vendor coordination, incident management, and project activities. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting healthcare claims and encounter processing systems, managing technology implementations, and coordinating teams responsible for business-critical applications., * Oversee, coordinate, and perform operational support activities for healthcare systems, including claims processing, encounter processing, integrations, and supporting applications.
- Coordinate with vendors, cybersecurity teams, enterprise architecture teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful system operations.
- Lead and motivate diverse teams responsible for production support, help desk operations, interface/EDI support, and stakeholder monitoring.
- Manage incident and issue resolution processes, including documentation, tracking, escalation, and timely remediation.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies while ensuring decisions and actions are properly documented.
- Manage internal and external escalations and ensure issues are resolved effectively and communicated appropriately.
- Monitor service-level agreements (SLAs) and coordinate with vendors to ensure performance expectations are met.
- Support compliance activities related to healthcare security and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational processes.
- Lead release management activities, including stakeholder communication, implementation planning, readiness reviews, and post-release monitoring.
- Support change management processes, including backlog grooming, prioritization, approvals, and implementation coordination.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and operational updates for technical and executive audiences.
Requirements
This position requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and executive leadership., * Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, healthcare, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience managing healthcare system operations, administrative program functions, claims processing, and/or encounter processing environments.
- 5+ years of project management experience supporting system implementations, upgrades, enhancements, or technology initiatives.
- 3+ years of experience managing external vendors supporting software development or technology services.
- Experience providing incident management support, including after-hours or on-call response.
- Strong understanding of system development life cycle (SDLC), operational processes, and technology implementation practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams, business users, vendors, and executive leadership., * Experience managing Medicaid Enterprise Systems or large-scale healthcare information systems.
- Knowledge of healthcare eligibility, enrollment, claims, and encounter processing concepts.
- Experience with ticketing and incident management tools.
- Experience developing SOPs and operational documentation for new system implementations.
- Experience preparing executive presentations and operational reports.
