Job description
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to manage, architect, optimize, and secure enterprise Oracle database environments across a hybrid landscape including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, and on-premises platforms., The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with enterprise Oracle databases, high availability, disaster recovery, cloud migrations, performance tuning, automation, and database security. This role will partner closely with application, infrastructure, security, data governance, engineering, and analytics teams to support mission-critical database platforms., * Administer and support Oracle databases from 11g through 23c across OCI, AWS, and on-premises environments.
- Manage CDB/PDB, RAC, Data Guard, and Active Data Guard environments.
- Design and manage Oracle deployments on OCI, including Autonomous Database, Exadata Cloud Service, and DB Systems.
- Support Oracle databases hosted on AWS EC2 and RDS for Oracle.
- Support hybrid connectivity using VPN, OCI FastConnect, and AWS Direct Connect.
- Lead Oracle cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including lift-and-shift and re-platforming.
- Monitor and optimize database performance using AWR, ASH, OEM, and cloud-native monitoring tools.
- Perform SQL, PL/SQL, and database configuration tuning.
- Manage RMAN backup and recovery strategies and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
- Maintain and test DR solutions to meet defined RPO/RTO objectives.
- Implement database security practices including TDE encryption, patching, access controls, least privilege, and database activity monitoring.
- Develop automation using Shell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or OCI Resource Manager.
- Integrate database operations with CI/CD and DevOps processes.
- Support AI-powered database features and other LLM-based technologies where applicable.
- Support data governance initiatives including data cataloging, lineage, metadata management, and data quality controls.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support, troubleshoot complex incidents, and conduct root cause analysis.
- Maintain database documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Lead projects from initiation through completion while working independently and collaboratively.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and adjust priorities based on business and operational needs.
Requirements
- Multiple years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise Oracle database environments.
- Strong experience with Oracle 11g-23c.
- Deep knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Active Data Guard, CDB/PDB, and RMAN.
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills.
- Hands-on experience with OCI, AWS, and on-premises Oracle environments.
- Strong understanding of Oracle database processes, memory management, storage, and performance tuning.
- Experience with AWR, ASH, OEM, and SQL performance tuning.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, preferably Red Hat or Oracle Linux.
- Strong Shell scripting skills.
- Experience with database security, encryption, patching, and access management.
- Experience with cloud migration and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication, ownership, leadership, and collaboration skills., * Experience with Python, Ansible, Terraform, and OCI Resource Manager.
- Experience integrating database administration with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Autonomous Database and Exadata Cloud Service.
- Experience supporting enterprise data governance, metadata, lineage, and data quality initiatives.
- Experience with AI-enabled database features and LLM technologies.
- Experience supporting mission-critical environments with 24/7 on-call responsibilities.
