Job description

The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support in a Microsoft-based enterprise environment. This role supports end-user hardware, software, communication, and collaboration technologies while delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience with desktop support, help desk operations, user administration, workstation troubleshooting, and audiovisual conferencing support., * Provide desktop and help desk support for end users in a Windows environment.

  • Respond to and resolve incidents and service requests through the organization's ticketing system.
  • Troubleshoot and support Windows 10 workstations, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics, break/fix repairs, equipment replacements, and workstation deployments.
  • Support physical office moves, workstation setups, and equipment installation activities.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and group memberships within Active Directory.
  • Support Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 environments, including Outlook configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Provide support for Azure-based services and identity management.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Okta, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) setup and user access issues.
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and OneDrive.
  • Provide remote support to users across multiple locations using remote management tools.
  • Support web conferencing platforms and meeting room technologies, including audio/video equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to conference room systems, webcams, microphones, speakers, and collaboration tools.
  • Assist with basic network and server troubleshooting to identify and escalate infrastructure-related issues when necessary.
  • Install, configure, and maintain standard endpoint security software and security controls.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and technical procedures in accordance with established IT standards.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate infrastructure, networking, or application support teams.

Requirements

  • 1 to 5+ years of experience in Desktop Support, Help Desk, Technical Support, or a related IT role.
  • Experience supporting Windows 10 operating systems in an enterprise environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory user administration and support.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure administration and cloud services.
  • Experience administering Okta and supporting multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  • Knowledge of desktop hardware troubleshooting, break/fix support, and workstation deployments.
  • Experience utilizing ITSM or ticketing platforms to manage support requests.
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience providing remote technical support.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting audiovisual (A/V) systems and conference room technologies.
  • Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as Intune, SCCM, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments.
  • CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or other relevant technical certifications.
