Job description

As a PC Repair & Technical Support Specialist, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and repairing customer systems, validating completed repairs, investigating recurring technical issues, and creating documentation that helps teams resolve problems more accurately and consistently., * Diagnose and repair PC hardware, Windows, BIOS, UEFI, driver, and firmware issues

  • Replace defective components, verifying system stability and performance afterward
  • Install, recover, repair, and troubleshoot Windows 10 and 11
  • Configure and troubleshoot BIOS and UEFI settings, including Secure Boot and CSM
  • Perform stability, stress, benchmark, and diagnostic tests with tools like OCCT and FurMark
  • Confirm repaired systems meet quality, performance, and reliability standards
  • Accurately document faults, repairs, troubleshooting steps, test results, and recommended actions
  • Investigate intermittent, recurring, and difficult-to-reproduce issues through log analysis, fault reproduction, configuration testing, and technical research
  • Develop, test, and improve troubleshooting methods, repair procedures, and preventative solutions
  • Report significant findings, root causes, recurring faults, and quality concerns to production and management
  • Maintain the internal technical knowledge base and create technician guides, repair procedures, and standard operating procedures
  • Produce clear customer-facing technical instructions and support documentation
  • Provide technical guidance to Customer Service, Inventory, Purchasing, management, and other internal teams
  • Configure, deploy, repair, and maintain internal PCs and workstations
  • Assist with complex hardware/software issues affecting customer PCs/internal equipment
  • Monitor Windows updates, firmware changes, hardware developments, and emerging technical issues
  • Help improve repair, testing, deployment, and quality-control processes
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive technical tasks/develop basic internal scripts
  • Promote consistent technical standards and troubleshooting practices across the company

Requirements

We're looking for someone who is technically curious, analytical, persistent, and able to communicate complex technical information clearly.

You'll be a strong fit if you:

  • Have experience building, repairing, upgrading, and validating desktop PCs
  • Can diagnose hardware, compatibility, and thermal issues involving motherboards, CPUs, RAM, GPUs, storage, power supplies, and cooling systems across current and legacy platforms
  • Can recommend appropriate hardware specifications and custom PC configurations
  • Have experience administering and troubleshooting Windows 10 and 11
  • Are comfortable configuring and troubleshooting BIOS and UEFI, including Secure Boot, CSM, BitLocker, WinRE, and drivers
  • Have experience with Event Viewer, WinDbg, Command Prompt, PowerShell, and basic Linux terminal troubleshooting
  • Can investigate intermittent and difficult-to-reproduce issues using structured troubleshooting, log analysis, technical research, and root cause analysis
  • Can clearly document procedures, test results, findings, and technical recommendations
  • Can explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Can independently manage multiple priorities, take ownership of technical issues, and follow them through to resolution
  • Have strong attention to detail and genuine interest in PC hardware/emerging tech

Desirable Skills

  • Experience using PowerShell or another scripting language to automate technical tasks
  • Experience working in a PC repair workshop, system integrator, computer manufacturer, or technical support environment
  • Experience creating formal knowledge-base articles, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures
  • Experience conducting advanced hardware, firmware, or compatibility investigations

This is not a role focused only on replacing parts. You'll be expected to determine why failures occur, confirm that repairs are reliable, document what you find, and help prevent recurring issues across the business.
