Job description

The Primavera Foundation is a non-profit organization that co-creates pathways out of poverty and strengthens the Tucson community through programs and services. The IT Specialist (ITS) installs, maintains, and troubleshoots an organization's technological infrastructure. They ensure that computer systems, networks, and software operate securely and efficiently to support daily business operations. The ITS is a detail-oriented team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This individual must be able to balance between a methodical, system-oriented approach and a sense of urgency/adaptability to change, while contributing to Primavera's success.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Work assignments may vary depending on the department's needs and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbent by leadership):

  • Administration of IT software, firewalls, phone systems, mobile devices, and other software
  • Support setting up devices and email clients, tablets, mobile phones, and computers
  • Understanding of virtual desktop environment and remote desktop technology
  • Configure, deploy, and relocate desktops, laptops, printers, and any other related devices
  • Troubleshooting skills with an effective customer service orientation
  • Assist employees with computer or IT-related issues
  • Identify, report, and respond to potential cybersecurity threats
  • Set up advanced network firewalls and switches
  • Identify, troubleshoot, resolve, and document end-user system issues and requests
  • Ensure requests are resolved promptly and with high-quality results
  • Organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Provide technical documentation for configurations and procedures
  • Collaborate with tech support from vendors such as internet providers, cloud solutions, and consultants
  • Research, design, and deploy new solutions required by end-users
  • Adhere to and demonstrate Primavera's guiding principles of integrity, respect, accountability, compassion, and leadership
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Requirements

  • Experience in the set-up, configuration, and use of computer hardware, software, and networks
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to technical and non-technical employees
  • Quick analytic response to resolve issues
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn, as well as always find solutions
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced knowledge using all office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Advanced understanding of Cloud Solutions & Cloud Computing
  • Knowledge of wireless networks, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Knowledge of video conference systems, cell phones, smartphones, iOS, iPadOS, and other common hardware devices and software
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and supporting Windows servers, Office 365, office software, and cloud-based systems
  • Experience providing remote support via phone and remote-control applications
  • Experience supporting and configuring iPads/iPhones/smartphones in an enterprise environment
  • Willing to learn and adapt to new technologies, computer systems, and other technologies when looking to expand your knowledge and career
  • Troubleshooting skills with an effective customer service orientation, * Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • One year of experience and demonstrated proficiency with web-based database program(s).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information science
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and coordination skills
  • Self-starter with diligent work ethic and proven dependability
  • Outstanding level of professionalism in providing administrative support, including ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
  • Ability to complete tasks while demonstrating attention to detail to produce high-quality work products.
  • Excellent communication, personal and presentation skills, * Office cubicle or shared office environment, with moderate level of interaction and office noise.
  • Ability to work seated at workstation for minimum of four hours per day, with intermittent standing, walking, bending, and stooping
  • Visual acuity and hand dexterity to work with computer systems (monitor, keyboard), reports, and other data sources, reading/entering/processing data and figures
  • Ability to use basic office equipment, including computer, fax machine, printers, copier/scanner, adding machine
