Senior Applied Scientist, Alexa for Shopping (Rufus)

Amazon Alexa for Shopping (Rufus) Experience Science team is seeking a highly motivated Scientist who is passionate about building next-generation agentic shopping experiences. In this role, you will be developing Agentic Language Models to unlock new shopping experiences. Prior experiences with LLM Post-training techniques, Reinforcement Learning (RL) Training and business specific RL gym creation is preferred. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver these experiences across multiple Rufus customer-facing features. You will thrive in this role if you enjoy bringing latest LLM post-training research into everyday life-both for customers and for yourself. You will work side by side with scientists and engineers in a fast-paced environment, driving rapid model development and experimentation. PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience

• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences (e.g. ICLR, ICML, Neurips) or journals

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.
• Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
