Job description
Oak Grove Technologies seeks a DevOps Engineer to develop and manage DevSecOps processes for automating DoD cybersecurity software integration and deployment. Responsibilities include overseeing software deployments, configuring VMs and containers, supporting development/testing, and optimizing automation. The role involves migrating legacy DevOps and IT capabilities, balancing hybrid cloud environments, analyzing performance metrics, and contributing to business development efforts.
- Execute DevSecOps functions, including creating and maintaining automation deployment and monitoring scripts, developing security controls, managing virtualized assets, and configuring virtual/physical networks.
- Oversee the deployment and operation of private and hybrid cloud environments including VMware vCenter, ESXi, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, and AWS.
- Design, implement, and support Java enterprise web services and scripting for automation, administration, data collection, and reporting.
- Perform automated functional and performance testing on representative systems.
- Oversee networked virtual and physical machines, security controls, software applications, and associated peripheral equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues, analyze hardware/software functionality, and resolve problems in accordance with DoD standards.
- Maintain lab environments in compliance with cybersecurity policies and procedures, including periodic security scanning, audits, and system documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including Operational Test Authorities, senior DoD officials, and research teams, ensuring compliance with DoD DevSecOps standards and best practices.
- Provide support for business development, proposal writing, and strategic planning with DevSecOps expertise.
- Lead and mentor junior staff and provide training as needed.

- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in IT, Cybersecurity, and/or Engineering.
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, Engineering, or a relevant field from an accredited institution (years of experience may substitute for education).
- Proven experience with DevSecOps, DevOps, or IT/Security automation in DoD environments.
- Expertise in virtualization technologies including VMware, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Linux, and AWS.
- Proficiency in automation tools such as Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible, and Git.
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Bamboo, BitBucket, Confluence, JIRA) and cloud vendor APIs.
- Strong knowledge of networking, security, and compliance frameworks (RMF, DIACAP, NIST guidelines).
- Experience with Photon OS, Java, C#/.Net development, Agile development methodologies, and scripting languages.
- Ability to oversee system audits, compliance, cybersecurity best practices, and maintain system documentation.
- Experience leading small technology projects and providing guidance to junior engineers.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
Work Environment & Additional Information:
- Onsite presence required in a government program office.
- Ability to work across organizational teams to maintain common configuration baselines.
- Work primarily in an unclassified facility, with some activities in a classified facility.
- Support ongoing migration of legacy IT/DevOps infrastructures to modernized solutions.
- Certifications are advantageous; in-progress certifications are encouraged.
