Job description

The client's Application Software Quality Assurance program supports the development and implementation of an enterprise motor vehicle application designed to promote the safe operation of motor vehicles, enhance public safety, and provide outstanding customer service.

The application will contribute to a comprehensive digital government experience that enables residents, businesses, and visitors to navigate driver's license and motor vehicle service processes more efficiently.

The Software QA Tester will test the application to ensure that it meets project objectives and supports new and expanding business requirements. Responsibilities will include reviewing and analyzing requirements, creating test cases, executing tests, and documenting defects for new or updated software applications.

The candidate must have strong technical proficiency in software application testing and experience using Jira. The candidate should be able to participate throughout the development lifecycle, from design through deployment. The ability to review requirements, write and automate test cases, execute tests, document defects, and communicate identified issues to the project team is essential.

The Software QA Tester will work in an Agile team environment to verify and validate that application requirements are fully covered and to improve both internal and client-facing environments.

  • Perform software application testing of customized solutions within the software platform to support critical business functions and meet project objectives, client requirements, and organizational goals.
  • Write automated test scripts based on user stories and develop appropriate testing methodologies.
  • Review requirements and ensure that application functionality aligns with business and technical expectations.
  • Execute functional, regression, integration, usability, and automated testing.
  • Identify, document, track, and communicate software defects and issues.

Automation and Technical Validation

  • Automate test cases using testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium and ACCELQ.
  • Validate test results by reviewing database schemas and executing SQL queries.
  • Perform API testing and review application wireframes developed in Figma or Adobe XD.
  • Participate throughout the development lifecycle, from design through deployment.
  • Maintain test scripts, test data, test results, and supporting documentation.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Communicate with project management, clients, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration throughout the testing phase.
  • Work closely with developers and business analysts to refine requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Communicate defects and testing issues clearly to the project team.
  • Interact directly with clients, managers, and end users to analyze project objectives and capability requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal development and operations teams to ensure that the application supports functionality and performance requirements.

Project and Environment Support

  • Maintain a flexible and proactive work environment to respond quickly to changing project requirements and customer objectives.
  • Recommend innovative approaches to support project and organizational goals.
  • Evaluate user interface specifications, customized applications, and integrations with internal and external systems.
  • Ensure that testing activities follow applicable security standards and procedures., 1. Develop test strategies, plans, and test cases for functional, automation, integration, and regression testing.
  1. Execute manual and automated tests, track defects, and ensure resolution with appropriate documentation.
  2. Automate test cases using testing frameworks and tools, including Selenium and ACCELQ.
  3. Collaborate with developers and business analysts to refine requirements and acceptance criteria.
  4. Perform cross-browser and usability testing.
  5. Participate in code reviews and provide testing-related feedback.
  6. Document test results and maintain testing artifacts.
  7. Use Jira to track defects and manage the complete defect lifecycle.
  8. Ensure compliance with all applicable government security standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Eight or more years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
  • Experience with test case management and defect-tracking tools, including Jira.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks, including Selenium and ACCELQ.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience working with version-control systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail., * Experience with automated testing tools, including Selenium and ACCELQ.
  • Knowledge of security testing.
  • Experience with REST API and integration testing.
