Job description
Serve as a subject matter expert on NASA financial management processes, systems, and data Analyze budget execution data to identify trends, gaps, and reporting anomalies (e.g., authorization-to-obligation timing, obligation/expenditure tracking) Build and maintain Excel-based models, trackers, and reporting tools for CFO office stakeholders Design and support Power Platform solutions (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) to streamline financial reporting and workflow processes Partner with NASA financial management staff to translate business needs into analytical products Support ad hoc data requests, briefings, and financial reporting deliverables for CFO leadership Document processes and maintain data integrity across financial systems and reports
Requirements
Demonstrated understanding of NASA (or comparable federal agency) financial management operations - budget formulation, execution, and reporting Advanced proficiency in Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling; VBA a plus) Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI required; Power Apps/Power Automate strongly preferred) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail Ability to work independently as a subject matter expert and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders Must be able to work on-site at Marshall Space Flight Center Preferred Qualifications Prior experience supporting a NASA Center or NASA CFO/finance organization directly Familiarity with federal financial systems (e.g., SAP-based platforms) and appropriations law basics (Anti-Deficiency Act, etc.) Experience with data visualization/dashboarding for executive audiences Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
