Job description

As an Azure Data Architect and Fabric Subject Matter Expert, you will lead transformative projects, shaping scalable, secure, and resilient data platforms in a remote setting. - Design and implement cutting-edge Azure data architectures following Medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) patterns.
- Build, optimize, and maintain complex ETL/ELT data pipelines leveraging Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric Data Factory.
- Develop high-performance, scalable data processing solutions using PySpark, Spark SQL, and Python in Azure Databricks or Fabric Spark Notebooks.
- Lead end-to-end migration of on-premises data warehouses to Azure, ensuring data integrity with minimal downtime.
- Perform deep performance tuning and troubleshooting on Spark internals and Delta Lake logs.
- Integrate Power BI with OneLake and Lakehouse architectures for seamless reporting and analytics.
- Implement robust security measures, including RLS and data masking, adhering to global privacy regulations.
- Drive DataOps practices, championing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub, with a focus on code quality, documentation, and automation.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, BI, and Cloud Data Engineering.
- Proven expertise in designing end-to-end solutions using Microsoft Azure, including ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, ADF, and Fabric ecosystem.
- Strong proficiency in Python (PySpark), SQL, and data modeling (Dimensional, Star/Snowflake schemas).
- Advanced Power BI skills, including DAX, RLS, and large dataset optimization.
- Infrastructure as Code knowledge (ARM, Terraform, Bicep) and hybrid cloud integration.
- Azure certifications such as DP-203, DP-600, or DP-700 are highly preferred.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Delta Lake, Lakehouse architecture, and Direct Lake connectivity.
- Familiarity with performance tuning at the Spark internals level.
- Additional certifications in Fabric or Data Engineering.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in data platform design and migration projects.

- Remote work environment with excellent communication skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with evolving Azure services and data technologies.
- Though travel is minimal, flexibility for occasional on-site visits may be required.
