Kforce is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support a mission-critical federal program delivering advanced cloud, data, and application capabilities in a highly secure environment.
This role is ideal for a DevOps professional with deep expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, CI/CD automation, and cloud-native application deployments. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining scalable enterprise environments that support large-scale data processing and mission operations.
You will work closely with software engineers, cloud architects, data engineers, and cybersecurity teams to implement secure, resilient, and highly available solutions leveraging AWS, Databricks, Docker, Terraform, CloudFormation, Redis, Spring Boot, and PKI-based security architectures., Design, deploy, and maintain highly available AWS cloud environments supporting mission-critical applications Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation Build, optimize, and support CI/CD pipelines to enable automated testing, deployment, and release management Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Docker Configure and administer AWS Application Load Balancers (ALBs) and related networking services Support enterprise data platforms and analytics environments utilizing Databricks Deploy and manage AWS Redis services and related cloud-native data technologies Collaborate with development teams supporting Spring Boot microservices and enterprise Java applications Implement security best practices including PKI authentication, encryption technologies, certificate management, and secure communications Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure, applications, and deployment pipelines Automate operational processes to improve scalability, reliability, and system performance Support DevSecOps initiatives and ensure compliance with security and governance requirements Collaborate across Agile development teams to deliver cloud-based solutions supporting mission objectives Participate in system design reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives, This role offers the opportunity to build and automate the cloud infrastructure powering mission-critical applications and data platforms supporting national security objectives. Your expertise in AWS, Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker, Databricks, Redis, Spring Boot, and PKI will directly contribute to secure, scalable, and reliable systems that enable critical mission success.
Requirements
Active Top Secret Clearance 7+ years of DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering experience Strong hands-on experience supporting AWS cloud environments Experience developing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation Experience deploying and supporting containerized applications using Docker Experience configuring and managing AWS Application Load Balancers (ALBs) Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation solutions Experience supporting Databricks platforms and cloud-based data processing environments Experience administering AWS Redis or similar distributed caching technologies Experience supporting Spring Boot applications within enterprise environments Experience implementing PKI, certificate management, encryption, and secure authentication solutions Strong understanding of cloud networking, security groups, IAM, and AWS architecture best practices Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application issues Experience working within Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps environments Excellent communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting FBI, DoD, Intelligence Community, or other federal programs Experience with Kubernetes, EKS, or container orchestration platforms Experience with GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar automation platforms Familiarity with AWS monitoring and observability tools including CloudWatch Experience supporting high-volume data platforms, analytics, or machine learning environments AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer Professional, or related certifications) Experience supporting large-scale distributed systems in secure environments
