8hrs / day, 5 days per week, all onsite. Occasional after hours work for system maintenance.
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer serves as the technical lead for the organization's enterprise infrastructure, responsible for the architecture, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of compute, storage, network, virtualization, and identity management platforms. This position provides strategic and operational leadership for critical infrastructure services across a variety of classified networks, establishes engineering standards, drives modernization initiatives, and ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of systems supporting customer operations. The role requires extensive hands-on technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to lead complex projects and maintenance activities in a secure enterprise environment., * Design, implement, administer, and maintain enterprise infrastructure systems including Cisco UCS, Microsoft Active Directory, enterprise storage platforms, Windows Server environments, and core network infrastructure.
- Architect, deploy, and support network solutions including routing, switching, segmentation, and secure communications across multiple classified environments.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, engineering best practices, system baselines, and technical roadmaps.
- Lead infrastructure modernization efforts, technology refresh projects, migrations, and lifecycle management activities.
- Manage enterprise storage solutions, data protection strategies, backups, disaster recovery capabilities, and capacity planning initiatives.
- Administer enterprise identity and authentication services including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, firmware updates, patches, maintenance activities, and change management procedures.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve operational stability and performance.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel to ensure compliance with security requirements, vulnerability remediation efforts, STIG implementation, and system hardening activities.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide technical recommendations for infrastructure improvements and future-state architectures.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including architectures, diagrams, procedures, standards, and operational runbooks.
- Provide senior-level technical guidance and mentoring to infrastructure personnel and serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Support planned after-hours maintenance windows and emergency response efforts to maintain system availability and operational readiness.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, + Required IAT Certs: one or more of the following: CISM, CISSP, or equivalent senior-level baseline certification
- Required vendor certification in one or more relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, NetApp, Pure Storage, HP, Dell, Linux+, Red Hat, HBSS, ACAS). Candidates without an active certification must obtain at least one within 6 months of hire
- Bachelors Degree
- Experience supporting Federal Government, DoD, or regulated environments.
- Experience with NIST RMF, NIST 800-53, STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, or equivalent compliance frameworks.
- Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or other enterprise virtualization platforms.
- Experience with enterprise backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Prior Military experience
