Job description
Amsive is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to help build the next generation of our analytics platform within Microsoft Fabric. This is not a traditional reporting role, you will help design semantic models, develop scalable analytics solutions, build AI-enabled data experiences, and improve how business users consume data across our organization.
Working alongside Data Engineers, Solution Architects, Business Intelligence professionals, and Marketing teams, you'll help transform enterprise data into trusted, reusable assets that power reporting, AI applications, and operational decision making. We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, embraces AI-assisted development, and constantly looks for better ways to build, automate, and deliver analytics.
What You Will Be Doing:
Semantic Modeling & Analytics
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI semantic models that support enterprise reporting and self-service analytics.
- Develop scalable star schemas, measures, calculated columns, hierarchies, perspectives, and Row-Level Security.
- Optimize semantic models for performance, usability, and governance.
- Build reusable metrics and governed business logic shared across reporting solutions.
Microsoft Fabric & Data Engineering
- Develop and enhance analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse technologies.
- Write and optimize SQL, Spark SQL, and PySpark notebooks supporting analytics workloads.
- Partner with Data Engineers to improve data quality, performance, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot data pipelines, semantic models, and reporting issues across the platform.
AI & Modern Analytics
- Design AI-enabled analytical experiences using Microsoft Fabric Data Agents and Azure AI technologies.
- Develop structured outputs (including JSON) that support internal web applications and AI-powered user experiences.
- Evaluate emerging AI capabilities and recommend practical applications that improve productivity and business value.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and automate repetitive work.
Operational Intelligence
- Build dashboards that monitor Fabric capacity utilization, refresh performance, workload health, pipeline execution, and overall platform performance.
- Develop reporting that helps engineering teams proactively identify performance bottlenecks and operational issues.
- Help establish monitoring standards for enterprise analytics solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience designing analytical solutions using modern cloud data platforms.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Power BI, or comparable enterprise analytics platforms.
- Experience developing Power BI semantic models and writing DAX measures.
- Strong SQL skills with experience querying and transforming large datasets.
- Experience developing PySpark and Spark SQL solutions.
- Understanding of dimensional modeling and enterprise data warehouse concepts.
- Experience working with Git-based source control.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a remote team.
