Job description

Brooksource is seeking a Network Engineer III to support a Fortune 500 telecommunications organization as part of its Enterprise Network Engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a large-scale, highly available production environment responsible for maintaining and modernizing critical network infrastructure that supports millions of customers and essential business operations.

As a Network Engineer, you'll partner with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to execute network upgrades, troubleshoot complex connectivity issues, and improve the performance, resiliency, and reliability of enterprise LAN, WAN, and wireless environments. This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy hands-on technical work, solving complex networking challenges, and contributing to high-impact infrastructure initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Design, configure, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, and wireless network infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot complex network connectivity, routing, switching, and performance issues across production environments.
  • Execute planned network upgrades, maintenance activities, and infrastructure changes.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure reliable network operations.
  • Implement improvements to network performance, resiliency, and monitoring capabilities.
  • Maintain technical documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for production network incidents and operational support., What You'll Bring

Requirements

  • 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience supporting medium-to-large corporate environments. Experience within Fortune 500 or similarly complex enterprise organizations is highly preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise routing protocols including BGP and OSPF.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex LAN/WAN environments within production networks.
  • Familiarity with Cisco wireless technologies; Meraki experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to collab across cross-functional technical teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced enterprise environment while managing multiple priorities.

  • First 1-2 weeks: follows standard business hours (approximately 8:00 AM-5:00 PM) for onboarding and training.
  • After ramp-up: role transitions to an evening schedule, with shifts typically starting around 5:00-6:00 PM.
  • Most work supports production changesduring scheduled maintenance windows (10:00 PM-5:00 AM CT); however, team members are not expected to cover the entire overnight window.
