Job description

As a Data Engineer on the Interconnection Services team, you will design, develop, and support enterprise data solutions that drive regulatory reporting, audit compliance, operational transparency, and executive decision-making. This role is responsible for building and maintaining governed, auditable data pipelines and curated data models that integrate information from internal enterprise systems and external RTO platforms. Working as part of a collaborative technology team, you will deliver high-quality data and software solutions that align with established architecture, development standards, and best practices. You will partner closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, project managers, and infrastructure teams to improve data quality, traceability, automation, and reporting capabilities across the analytics lifecycle. The ideal candidate combines strong data engineering skills with a passion for solving complex business challenges through scalable and reliable data solutions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders, data analysts, and technical teams to gather requirements and define source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, and ETL processes.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable data pipelines that integrate data from internal enterprise applications and external RTO systems.
  • Build and maintain curated data models that support regulatory reporting, audit requirements, operational analytics, and executive dashboards.
  • Implement automated data quality controls, reconciliation processes, and validation frameworks to ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and lineage.
  • Develop audit-ready datasets with full traceability and governance controls to support compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and maintain interactive dashboards, scorecards, and reports using Power BI and other business intelligence tools.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, solution architects, and infrastructure teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in design reviews, testing activities, defect resolution, and deployment processes following Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Troubleshoot data integration issues, optimize data processing performance, and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Provide technical support and consultation to business users and stakeholders regarding data solutions, reporting capabilities, and analytics initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, technical documentation, and solution recommendations to business and technology teams.
  • Ensure all solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards, development best practices, security requirements, and data governance policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, data integration, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience designing and developing ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and data integration solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Experience working with large datasets and enterprise data platforms.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance best practices.
  • Experience with data quality frameworks, reconciliation processes, and audit controls.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
