Job description

The Cloud Architect will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and optimizing secure and resilient cloud environments, with a primary focus on AWS. The role includes designing multi-tier applications, leading cloud migration efforts, ensuring federal compliance, and integrating automation and AI/ML capabilities into cloud operations. The Cloud Architect will collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, DevOps, and program teams to deliver modern, scalable, and compliant cloud solutions for federal customers., * Architect and implement secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions primarily on AWS, with integration across Azure, GCP, and Oracle Cloud.

  • Design and deploy multi-tier, fault-tolerant applications using cloud-native services.
  • Lead and co-design cloud migration efforts from legacy systems to modern cloud platforms.
  • Develop enterprise cloud reference architectures, standards, and reusable patterns.
  • Integrate AI/ML capabilities and automation into cloud operations to enhance efficiency and scalability.

DevOps, Automation & IaC

  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to enable CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration management, and cloud operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of hands-on cloud architecture experience, with a strong focus on AWS.
  • Proven experience in multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP, Oracle).
  • Experience supporting U.S. Federal agencies and securing FISMA Moderate/High systems.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, Bash, or OpenTofu.
  • Experience with DevOps tools including Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Git.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of AWS cloud architecture, cloud-native services, and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security frameworks and federal compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
  • Ability to design scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure cloud architectures.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity management, encryption, and monitoring.
