Based in Adrian, Michigan, you will integrate, align, and validate precision optical assemblies while partnering closely with optical, mechanical, and electrical engineers., * Build, align, and integrate optical/optomechanical subassemblies (lenses, mirrors, sensors, and related parts).

  • Execute optical tests, calibrations, and performance verification procedures.
  • Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions for performance deviations.
  • Follow work instructions, engineering drawings, and formal documentation.
  • Capture complete records of assemblies, test outcomes, configurations, and engineering changes.
  • Support prototype and iterative development efforts across multiple programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to enhance assembly processes and system performance.
  • Help manage optics, tooling, fixtures, and lab equipment inventories.
  • Contribute to manufacturing, integration, and quality activities for development-to-production transitions.
  • Maintain orderly work areas; uphold quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree, technical certification, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience in optics, engineering technology, physics, electronics, manufacturing, or related disciplines.
  • 0-3 years in optical assembly, lab settings, precision manufacturing, electronics assembly, or similar technical fields.
  • Experience with hand tools, microscopes, measurement equipment, alignment tools, or laboratory instrumentation.
  • Competence reading engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced engineering/development environment.

Core Competencies
