Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to join our innovative IT security team. In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding our organization's digital assets by implementing, monitoring, and managing comprehensive cybersecurity measures. Your expertise will help ensure our systems are resilient against evolving threats, compliant with industry standards, and aligned with best practices in information security. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional passionate about protecting critical infrastructure and advancing cybersecurity initiatives in a fast-paced environment., * Develop and implement security protocols based on industry standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and FIPS to protect organizational data and IT infrastructure.

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, security risk analysis, and security assessments to identify potential threats and weaknesses within network systems.
  • Manage and configure cybersecurity tools including SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), IDS (Intrusion Detection System), EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response), firewalls such as Cisco ASA, and VPN solutions to monitor and respond to security events.
  • Oversee network security operations involving LAN/WAN architecture, routing protocols like OSPF or BGP, IPsec VPNs, and network support activities to ensure robust connectivity and protection.
  • Perform incident response activities, including threat detection & response, incident management, system hardening, disaster recovery planning, and incident recovery procedures.
  • Administer identity & access management processes utilizing LDAP, SSO (Single Sign-On), RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), GPO (Group Policy Objects), and other authentication methods to enforce secure user access controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cloud security engineering projects involving AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, PaaS (Platform as a Service), IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), VMware, and virtualization technologies to secure cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Ethernet, VLANs, load balancing, network architecture, and network management tools like SolarWinds or PRTG.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing cybersecurity tools such as SIEM platforms (Splunk or New Relic), Cisco ISE for network access control, Cisco routers & switches, Juniper devices, and open-source solutions like Snort or Suricata IDS.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems including Windows Server environments, Linux distributions such as Debian or CentOS, macOS, Ubuntu, openSUSE, Solaris or BSD variants.
  • Experience with system security plans (SSPs), system hardening techniques using SELinux or similar frameworks for Linux/Unix systems.
  • Familiarity with encryption technologies including PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), SSL/TLS protocols for secure communications across networks.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing security best practices involving cloud architecture design principles in AWS or Azure environments.
  • Ability to perform vulnerability research & management using tools like Nessus or Qualys; conduct threat intelligence analysis; execute security risk assessments; and adhere to compliance standards such as PCI DSS or FISMA.
