Job description

Perform system administration functions for servers which host assigned applications. A System Administrator (SA) shall ensure all software on the server is documented, approved for use, maintained, up-to-date, licensed (if applicable) and properly and securely configured. The SA shall support release implementation. The SA shall perform user profile management to ensure access is compliant with all access control security/STIG requirements at the operating system, database and application level. The SA shall review system, application and security logs for indications of issues or attacks and maintain configuration control within the limits of a central data center hosted environment. The SA shall support all required cybersecurity evolutions, apply applicable STIGs, review monthly Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) reports provided by the hosting facility, and identify and correct or mitigate vulnerabilities to ensure compliance with all IA requirements.

Requirements

IAT II (Security+) Knowledgeable of the cybersecurity principles in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) under Special Publication (SP) 800-53 REV 5. Experience and understanding of various networking protocols, as well as experience developing and modifying various interface types including but not limited to Application Programming Interface (API) and Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP). Experience utilizing scripting languages including PowerShell and SQL, and be able to dynamically problem solve, reengineer an application or system, and develop supporting technical documentation. The individual must be local, and be willing to be on-site in Portsmouth 4-5 days a week.
