Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to play a critical role in the evolution of their technology platform. This engineer will take ownership of an existing Python-based application, maintain and enhance the application, and ultimately migrate it into their core technology ecosystem.

This role combines backend ownership, cloud architecture, and modern full-stack development. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across the entire technology stack-from Vue3 front-end applications to Python and .NET backend services-while also taking ownership of production systems, cloud infrastructure, and long-term platform strategy.

Ideal PR: $16-21/hr

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the migration of the application into SMArtX's core platform architecture and deployment model

  • Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python, C#, .NET Core, and cloud-native technologies

  • Develop and support modern front-end applications using Vue3

  • Design and consume RESTful APIs and integrate services across multiple platforms and applications

  • Work extensively with AWS infrastructure, cloud services, and deployment pipelines

  • Own applications throughout the full lifecycle, from development and architecture through production support and monitoring

  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including query optimization and data modeling

  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architectural decisions

  • Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver solutions aligned with business objectives

  • Contribute to CI/CD processes, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native development practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Strong experience developing backend applications and APIs using Python

  • Strong experience developing applications using C# and .NET Core

  • Experience taking ownership of existing applications and modernizing or refactoring legacy systems

  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and distributed services

  • Experience developing modern web applications using Vue3

  • Experience building cloud-native applications within AWS (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB)

  • Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized application development

  • Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL & NoSQL technologies such as DynamoDB

  • Experience with GitHub Actions and modern CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience troubleshooting production issues and improving system performance

  • Ability to work independently, make architectural decisions, and own projects end-to-end

  • Strong communication skills - someone who will challenges processes and decision not just a ticket-taker Preferred Qualifications

  • Terraform or infrastructure-as-code experience

  • Experience supporting applications in startup environments - ability to wear multiple hats

  • Experience with event-driven architecture and microservices

  • Exposure to financial services, wealth management, portfolio management, or fintech applications

  • Experience working with AI-assisted development tools and LLM-enabled workflows

  • Familiarity with Babelfish or database migration tools

  • Demonstrated commitment to continued learning through certifications, advanced coursework, or self-directed development
