Job description
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to design, develop, maintain, and support mission-critical enterprise applications running on IBM mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS, and will work closely with business analysts and operations teams to deliver high-quality solutions., * Design, develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications
- Write and modify COBOL / COBOL-II programs
- Develop and maintain JCL for batch processing
- Work with DB2 for data access, performance tuning, and SQL optimization
- Support and develop CICS online transactions
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Perform unit testing, debugging, and code reviews
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Participate in application modernization and migration initiatives
- Maintain technical documentation and follow coding standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, BA, DevOps, Operations)
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Mainframe Developer
- Strong expertise in:
- COBOL / COBOL-II
- JCL
- DB2
- CICS
- Experience with batch and online processing
- Strong knowledge of mainframe utilities (SORT, IDCAMS, FTP, File-Aid)
- Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
