Job description

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to build the software that turns Chemifys robotic synthesis platform into something scientists can drive the services that schedule and execute runs across racks of robotic hardware, and the interfaces chemists use to design, launch, and monitor experiments. You will partner with firmware, hardware, manufacturing, and chemistry teams, and own meaningful slices of the platform end to end., * Design, build, and ship full-stack features across backend services and web front-ends, owning them from spec to production.

  • Build and harden the systems that translate experiment definitions into reliable, observable robotic execution.
  • Work closely with firmware, hardware, manufacturing, and chemistry teams to close the loop between digital intent and physical result.
  • Raise the technical bar through design reviews, code review, and pragmatic architecture decisions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help shape how the team builds.

Requirements

You are an experienced engineer who ships equally at home designing a service and polishing the interface someone actually uses. You care about whether your work changes what happens on the lab floor, not just whether the build is green, and youre comfortable owning ambiguous problems end to end.

We expect you to bring:

  • 5+ years building and shipping production software end-to-end.
  • Strong command of a backend language (Python/C/C++)
  • Solid grasp of API design, databases, testing, and CI/CD; comfortable owning services in production.
  • A track record of delivering complex features independently and lifting the people around you.
  • A pragmatic, ownership-driven approach and comfort in a fast-moving environment.

Beneficial Skills

  • Experience with hardware-adjacent or real-time systems, instrument control, IoT, or robotics software.
  • Background in scientific, lab-automation, manufacturing, or other physical-world software.
  • Cloud infrastructure and containerisation.

About the company

By combining AI, robotics, and the worlds largest continually expanding database of chemical programs, we are accelerating chemical discovery to improve quality of life and extend the reach of humanity., Why Join Chemify? Impact. The software you build is how scientists drive the platform your work directly shapes what Chemifys robotic systems can plan, run, and observe. Autonomy. You will own significant parts of the platform and have real influence over how it is built. Ambition. We are a Series B deep-tech company investing in world-class infrastructure at the frontier of AI, robotics, and chemistry with the resources and mandate to build software that turns design into physical experiment
