RFID Field Implementation Specialist

The RFID Field Implementation Specialist is a hands-on, travel-heavy field role responsible for supporting the installation, testing, commissioning and field execution of RFID systems for Nexus RFID customers. Travel is expected to be approximately 70 to 90 percent, with frequent multi-day trips, multiple customer sites and occasional short-notice travel. This level of travel is not for everyone, so candidates should be comfortable being on the road most weeks.

This role is designed for someone who is mechanically capable, practical in the field, comfortable traveling frequently and willing to learn RFID site survey methods, reader and antenna installation practices, cabling coordination, tag testing, commissioning and customer-facing field support.

The right person must be able to work independently in the field when needed, assist with or perform installation work, support subcontractor teams on site, document field conditions clearly and help carry projects through to a clean and professional deployment. When not traveling, this person will work remotely on documentation, preparation, equipment staging, project follow-up, training and support tasks.

RFID does not succeed on design alone. It succeeds in the field, where reader placement, antenna mounting, cabling and real operating conditions decide whether a system works. This role exists to help make sure those deployments are installed, tested and delivered correctly.

What You Will Do

• Install RFID readers, antennas, printers, handhelds and related hardware, and assist with or coordinate low-voltage cabling as needed

• Support site surveys with photos, measurements, notes and field observations

• Guide subcontractors and confirm installed work matches design intent

• Assist with tag testing, read-rate testing, commissioning and basic troubleshooting

• Document field conditions clearly so projects can be reviewed, supported and closed out

• Prepare equipment, maintain install kits and support customers remotely between trips

• Work safely in active customer environments, including warehouses, plants, hospitals, labs and distribution centers

• Support occasional evening or weekend work when customer installation schedules require it

5 or more years of hands-on field experience in low voltage, field service, networking hardware, access control, AV, automation, RFID, barcode, IoT or a similar trade

• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with common tools

• Comfort working in warehouses, plants, hospitals, labs and distribution centers

• Ability to work from ladders and lifts where trained and permitted

• Ability to lift and move field equipment as needed

• Valid driver's license and ability to travel independently

• Legal authorization to work in the United States

• Clear communication and reliable documentation habits

• Good judgment about when to solve a problem and when to escalate it

• Basic networking knowledge

• Experience reading floor plans and installation drawings

• Experience coordinating with subcontractors or customer facilities teams
