Manage and maintain an Amazon-AWS-based Linux, Windows, and Docker/container-based infrastructure, including system configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system reliability and availability.

Take a proactive approach to keeping systems operational and anticipating changes required to accommodate growth predicted by trendlines.

Ensure system and application security, including implementing security best practices, managing access controls, and proactively addressing vulnerabilities.

Monitor and optimize system performance utilizing monitoring tools to track system health, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.

Monitor database server performance and collaborate with DBAs to maximize database performance as a part of the full infrastructure stack.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, including diagnosing and resolving system failures, network problems, and application errors.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security teams, to ensure smooth and efficient infrastructure operations.

Stay current with industry trends and best practices, including continuous learning and professional development to maintain expertise in Linux system administration, AWS infrastructure administration, and related technologies.

Coordinate with NVMO/cellular-connectivity-providers to establish and maintain connectivity to the AlignOps hosting environments.

Understand cost models and pricing associated with cloud providers such as AWS and optimize the use of the resources to minimize costs given the performance requirements.

Requirements
- Experience with Linux systems administration, including knowledge of Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, RHEL, RockyLinux, AlmaLinux), shell scripting (e.g., Bash, Python), Version Control Tools (Git / GitHub), system configuration, package management, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of networking concepts, which encompasses knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing, as well as experience with network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with and expertise in managing container technologies like Docker.
- Experience with and expertise in managing AWS infrastructure.
- Obtain and maintain the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.
- Knowledge of security best practices, including an understanding of security principles and implementing security measures like access controls, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability management.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting (e.g., Bash) or programming language (e.g., Python) for developing automation scripts, tools, and applications.
- Capacity to analyze complex problems, troubleshoot issues, and develop effective solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with other engineers and stakeholders, including communicating complex concepts to less technically adept audiences.
This is a full-time position located in Indianapolis, IN. Employees hired within a designated radius of the office are expected to work on-site according to a schedule set by management based on the requirements of their role.
