Software Workflow Developer

We''re replacing a manual, error-prone process - staff pulling and downloading schedules from EMR systems by hand - with fully automated bot workflows. As our Automation Engineer, you''ll own that transformation end to end: building, scheduling, monitoring, and maintaining browser and desktop automations that acquire schedules and medical records from multiple EMR platforms and deliver clean, validated files into our cloud data pipeline (Google Cloud Storage * BigQuery).

This is a hands-on builder role. You''ll configure and operate the automation layer that feeds our entire downstream data platform.

What You''ll Do

• Build and maintain Playwright-based browser automations against multiple web-based EMR systems
• Build RDP/desktop automations for EMRs that don''t have web interfaces
• Handle automated login and navigation, including session management, MFA (where permitted), and security timeouts
• Automate daily/weekly schedule downloads and medical record/chart/document retrieval across locations
• Implement file validation: file checks, renaming, metadata capture, and error handling
• Deliver raw files to a GCS staging/input bucket with correct structure and metadata for downstream routing
• Schedule and run bot executions; monitor runs, detect failures, and build auto-recovery logic
• Maintain automation logs and audit trails (run history, errors, screenshots, metrics)
• Keep selectors, credentials handling, and configurations up to date as EMR interfaces change
• Scale the automation framework across new EMRs and locations as the footprint grows, * Eliminates manual acquisition effort and human error across the organization
• Scales schedule and record acquisition across every EMR and location we operate in
• Ensures consistent, on-time data delivery that the entire reporting and analytics stack depends on
• Your logs, monitoring, and recovery work directly drive reliability for the business

• 3+ years building UI/browser automation - Playwright strongly preferred (Selenium/Puppeteer experience considered)
• Experience automating desktop applications via RDP or similar (e.g., desktop RPA tooling, image/coordinate-based automation)
• Strong scripting skills (Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar)
• Experience handling authentication flows programmatically: sessions, MFA, timeouts, credential management
• Solid error-handling instincts: retries, failure detection, alerting, and self-recovery patterns
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, especially Cloud Storage (BigQuery a plus)
• Experience with job scheduling/orchestration (cron, Cloud Scheduler, Airflow, or similar)
• Disciplined about logging, monitoring, and auditability

Nice to Have

• Experience automating EMR/EHR systems or other healthcare applications
• HIPAA awareness and experience handling PHI in automated workflows
• Familiarity with data pipeline concepts (ingestion, deduplication, standardization)
• RPA platform experience (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate Desktop)
