Job description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Under general supervision, the Database Developer 2 is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing advanced database solutions. The role supports the Data Architect by implementing scalable database architectures, managing complex data integrations, and delivering high-quality reporting and analytics tools. This position includes leadership responsibilities within the database team and focuses on driving technical excellence and modernization., 1. Designs and develops database architectures in alignment with organizational goals and in collaboration with the Data Architect.

Implements advanced ETL processes and SSIS packages, supporting complex data integration and transformation workflows.

Creates and maintains SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports and Power BI dashboards for actionable insights.

Optimizes database performance, including advanced indexing strategies, query tuning, and resource management.

Analyzes business and technical requirements, recommending innovative database solutions.

Ensures data accuracy and integrity by implementing advanced validation and business rule processes.

Troubleshoots and resolves complex issues within databases, data warehouses, and reporting systems.

Supports modernization efforts, including migrations to hybrid or cloud-compatible architectures.

Collaborates across teams, providing technical expertise and ensuring database alignment with application requirements.

Documents solutions and processes, creating technical specifications and diagrams for reference.

Leads code reviews, ensuring high-quality and maintainable database solutions.

Provides advanced technical support for escalated issues, mentoring junior team members as needed.

Researches emerging database technologies and provides insights to support modernization and innovation initiatives.

Implements security measures and compliance protocols, ensuring data protection and regulatory alignment.

Requirements

- 4-6 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and managing enterprise databases and reporting solutions.
Technical Skills & Expertise:
- Advanced proficiency in SQL Server, T-SQL, SSRS, and SSIS for database and reporting development.
- Expertise in Power BI and other data visualization tools for analytics.
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
- Experience with hybrid or cloud-compatible database environments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or C#) for database automation.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and security frameworks for data protection.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in database technologies (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Azure).
- Experience with cloud migration projects or modern database architectures.
- Strong collaboration and leadership skills for mentoring and guiding teams.
