Job description
Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Structured Cabling Technician to join our project team supporting telecommunications and network infrastructure installations. The Technician will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of low-voltage cabling projects, including fiber optic and copper cabling installations, pathway construction, rack and stack activities, cable terminations, testing, labeling, and telecommunications room build-outs. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work while maintaining professionalism on customer job sites. Key Responsibilities
- Install and support structured cabling systems, including fiber optic and copper infrastructure.
- Perform cable pulling, routing, dressing, and securing for telecommunications systems.
- Assist with OSP (Outside Plant) and ISP (Inside Plant) installations.
- Build and organize telecommunications rooms, MDFs, and IDFs.
- Perform rack and stack installations of network and telecommunications equipment.
- Terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling.
- Install cable pathways including ladder racks, J-hooks, conduit, sleeves, and cable tray systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation and labeling according to project standards.
- Follow all applicable industry codes, standards, and best practices.
- Ensure job site safety and compliance with company and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and project leadership to complete work efficiently and on schedule.
Requirements

Experience with structured cabling, telecommunications, or low-voltage installations preferred.

Knowledge of CAT5e, CAT6, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling systems.

Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and cable installation equipment safely.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Ability to read and follow installation drawings, work orders, and project documentation.

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook.

High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Ability to distinguish color codes and accurately read a tape measure.

Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements. Desired Characteristics

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
