Job description

The Epic Referrals Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert for Epic's Referrals modules. This role supports the daily performance, maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting of referrals workflows and ensures efficient data flow between departments and external systems. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in technical problem-solving and structured environments.

Serve as the primary analyst for Epic Referrals

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve support tickets related to referral workflows and system performance.
  • Configure and optimize Epic functionality to support efficient, compliant referral processes.
  • Perform structured testing and validation for system changes, upgrades, and enhancement requests.
  • Partner with IT, Clinical Operations, and Revenue Cycle teams to align workflows and build long-term solutions.
  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation for build specs, user requirements, and training resources.
  • Monitor data accuracy, routing behavior, and system integration across sending and receiving entities.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts related to Epic referral workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of Epic Referrals build experience required; Prelude, Real Time Eligibility, Cadence preferred.
  • Referrals and Authorization Certification Required; Prelude and Cadence Epic modules preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation habits.
  • Ability to work independently while following defined processes and deadlines.
  • Experience in a healthcare system or ambulatory care environment a plus.
  • Familiarity with clinical and referral workflows preferred.

Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
