Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Hardware Support Technician to provide desktop and hardware support for a large biomedical research environment consisting of over 4,000 users in Windows, Macintosh, and Linux environments. This is an excellent opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional technical support., The Hardware Support Technician will provide technical support for an extremely diverse biomedical research institute consisting of over 4,000 users in a Windows/Macintosh/Linux environment. This is a challenging role with state-of-the-art equipment. We are looking for candidates who are eager to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment and have the ability to support demanding users while maintaining excellent customer service., * Device imaging of Windows and Macintosh baseline workstation environments.
- Hardware and software installations both local and remote.
- Mobile device setup and configuration.
- Various computer peripheral delivery and setup.
- Respond to incident and request tickets in a timely fashion and document all activity related to a ticket.
- Escalates tickets appropriately.
Requirements
- 6 months to 2 years of experience with Windows operating systems.
- 6 months to 2 years of experience with Macintosh operating systems.
- 6 months to 2 years of experience with network support and re-imaging workstations.
- 6 months to 2 years of experience supporting a small to medium-sized fast-paced environment.
- CompTIA A+ certification is a plus.
- CompTIA Network+ certification is a plus., * Total IT experience should not exceed 4 years.
- Stable work history with demonstrated commitment to previous employers.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Experience supporting desktop, laptop, and mobile devices.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment., * Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
- Must be able to walk for long distances.
- Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods of time., * Stable employment history.
- Up to 4 years of overall IT/Desktop Support experience.
- Strong Windows and Mac troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with workstation imaging, hardware deployments, software installations, and ticket management.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced enterprise support environment
