Job description
We are looking for a PC Technician to provide hands-on technical support for a Higher Education environment in Brooklyn, New York. This is a Contract position focused on assisting users with everyday desktop and device issues across both Windows and Mac systems. The role is ideal for someone who can deliver responsive end-user support, resolve access-related concerns, and help maintain a smooth technology experience for students, faculty, and staff., Provide first-level desktop support for end users by diagnosing and resolving routine hardware, software, and access-related issues. Support both Windows and macOS devices, ensuring systems are set up properly and functioning reliably for daily use. Help users connect to campus Wi-Fi and troubleshoot network access problems affecting laptops and other devices. Guide end users through the installation and setup of Microsoft Office and other standard productivity applications. Install, configure, and troubleshoot Pharos printing software to ensure users can access printing services successfully. Perform account-related support tasks such as password resets, basic user access assistance, and new account setup coordination. Assist with hardware troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, and peripheral equipment, including cables and related components. Document service requests, resolutions, and recurring technical issues to support efficient ongoing desktop support operations.
Requirements
Prior experience providing Level 1 desktop or end-user technical support in a structured work environment. Working knowledge of both Windows and Mac operating systems, including basic troubleshooting and software support. Familiarity with computer hardware, associated hardware components, and peripheral device troubleshooting. Experience assisting users with software installation, system access, and connectivity issues such as Wi-Fi support. Ability to support printing software configuration and general desktop application setup. Hands-on exposure to hardware from manufacturers such as Dell and experience supporting Apple devices. Basic understanding of cable installation and workstation connectivity for desktop support needs. Strong communication skills with the ability to assist non-technical users in a clear and effective manner., All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
