Job description
Our client, an award-winning company in the trading sector, is looking for a passionate Data Engineer (m/f/x) to join their growing international team in Vienna. If you enjoy working with large-scale data environments, collaborating with highly skilled colleagues, and continuously improving systems and processes, then keep reading - your next challenge awaits., * Design and implement scalable ETL solutions for structured and unstructured data, including both batch and streaming workloads.
- Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines to ensure reliable and high-quality data for internal stakeholders.
- Monitor data workflows, investigate pipeline and data availability issues, and troubleshoot problems to ensure smooth operations.
- Contribute to data modelling, database design, job scheduling, monitoring, and overall data engineering best practices.
- Continuously improve existing data infrastructure, optimize performance, and help modernize legacy processes and workflows.
Requirements
- You have at least 2 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or in a similar position.
- You hold a degree (MSc or PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
- You have strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL in production environments.
- You are experienced with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and ideally have exposure to modern analytical databases such as ClickHouse.
- You have practical experience building and operating cloud-native solutions on AWS.
- You are familiar with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with tools such as Java, Apache Airflow, Kafka, Spark, Dask or Hadoop is considered a plus.
- You are proficient with Git and modern software development best practices.
- Knowledge of financial markets is an advantage but not a requirement.
- You are a proactive, self-driven individual who enjoys taking ownership and solving complex technical challenges independently.
- You have excellent English communication skills.
