Job description

We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our mobile browser team at Infinity Browser and contribute to the development and enhancement of our browser platform on Android, which enables clients to have tailored browser solutions based on their needs.

This isn't your conventional Android app development role. Our platform is deeply integrated with the Chromium project and spans across multiple repositories and different languages and architectures.

You will be joining a small team, so we are looking for someone proactive, pragmatic, and comfortable taking ownership with limited guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high quality features for our Android browser platform, which is built on top of Chromium source code
  • Handle regressions and ensure feature stability when migrating our changes from one Chromium version into another
  • Work with product management and other stakeholders (Backend, QA, etc.) to define and iterate on new features and also ensure timely delivery and overall product quality
  • Help identify areas of improvement in our projects and processes

Requirements

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience with Android application development
  • Strong Java and Kotlin development skills
  • Ability to understand and solve complex problems using different programming languages
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience with coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations surrounding the Android architecture ecosystem via distributed development teams
  • A passion for challenging tasks and learning new things

You don't need to check every box on this list to apply.

Bonus Points For

  • Previous experience with browsers in general
  • Previous experience with Chromium source code
  • Solid background in Python and/or C++
  • Experience with AI tools (e.g. Claude code)

About the company

Infinity Browser builds and operates custom browsers for brands. Rather than asking a company to build browser technology from scratch, we give them a fully brandable, Chromium-based browser that reaches market fast and is customizable end to end: branded themes, a tailored new tab page, pre-installed extensions, configurable default search with monetization, personalized onboarding, and engagement analytics. Our clients own the vision, we build and run the engineering behind it. Increasingly, our focus is privacy and AI: browser experiences that protect user data while bringing modern AI capabilities into everyday browsing. Our work already powers browsers such as Ecosia, the search engine that funds tree-planting with its profits, and Heart, which donates its profits to high-impact charities. You would join a small, senior engineering team working deep inside the Chromium codebase across multiple brands, with genuine ownership of what ships. Locations This is a fully remote role. We can hire you as a full-time employee if you are based in Ireland, France, or Germany. Anywhere else in the world, we offer the same full-time remote role through a local hiring partner or a contract engagement.
