Job description
A well-established and award-winning MSP based in Oxfordshire is looking for an experienced 3rd Line Engineer to join their Infrastructure team. This is a senior escalation role within the Service Delivery department, working across a broad range of client environments and technology stacks., * Act as the primary escalation point for 2nd Line engineers across incidents and requests
- Manage tickets in line with established SLAs, keeping clients informed throughout
- Monitor and maintain client infrastructure and systems, responding proactively to alerts
- Produce and implement change requests for internal and external requirements
- Support client on/offboarding processes and assist with project handovers to service delivery
- Work with third-party suppliers and vendors where appropriate
- Travel to client sites as required for on-site support, installations or meetings
- Maintain internal and client documentation to a high standard
- Participate in ongoing training programmes and contribute to continuous improvement
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 4-5 years' IT experience in a corporate or MSP environment, MSP background is essential
- Ideally with 3rd Line experience for some or all of that time
- Linux experience (desktop and/or server) is a key differentiator and highly sought after
- Strong security knowledge: AV, firewalls, CA policies, RBAC, managed threat response, identity protection, mail/web filtering
- Microsoft Azure: Virtual Servers, Backup & DR, Networking, AVD, Hybrid deployments
- Cloud-led identity and management: Intune, Entra, ABM
- Backup & Disaster Recovery processes and technologies
- Internal networking: DHCP, DNS, NPS/RADIUS, switches, firewalls, wireless, VPN
- Hypervisor technologies: VMware, Hyper-V
- Microsoft Server OS: management, maintenance and deployment
- Scripting and RPA automations
- Full UK driving licence and own transport

- Endpoint security: Sophos AV
- Switching: HPE/Aruba, Cisco, Dell, Ubiquiti
- Cloud: Microsoft Azure certification
