Job description

  • Build and deploy a new enterprise hosting platform based on Red Hat OpenShift
  • Support a large-scale infrastructure transformation programme
  • Work closely with architects, platform engineers and delivery teams
  • Help improve platform scalability, resilience and operational efficiency
  • Contribute to infrastructure automation and platform engineering best practices
  • Support ongoing platform enhancements as the environment continues to evolve

  • DevOps, We are a leading UK technology and communications organisation undergoing a major infrastructure transformation programme. We are building a brand-new internal hosting platform based on Red Hat OpenShift and are looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to join our highly skilled engineering team. This is an initially 6-month hybrid role based in Manchester or Knowsley, with 2 days onsite and 3 days remote each week. The position is inside IR35 and offers the opportunity to help modernise enterprise infrastructure while working alongside architects, platform engineers and delivery teams on a next-generation private cloud platform supporting critical business services.

  • Strong hands-on platform engineering experience
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Background in platform engineering and infrastructure engineering
  • Experience with enterprise infrastructure deployments
  • Experience with Ansible
  • Experience with infrastructure automation
  • Experience with enterprise networking
  • Experience with bare metal infrastructure
  • Experience with private cloud environments
  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure transformation projects
  • Experience working within enterprise-scale environments
  • Ability to quickly become productive within an established engineering team
  • Comfortable working in fast-moving delivery teams
  • Able to solve complex infrastructure challenges
