Job description
The Service Analyst is responsible for providing administrative, tracking, and coordination support to the data center service department. This position supports technician labor tracking, project lifecycle reporting, parts tracking, project administration, and other department-related support activities and tasks as assigned.
- Maintain accurate technician labor records by collecting, reviewing, and entering timecard information into payroll and operating system to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Assist with administering new hire onboarding activities by coordinating with HR to complete required paperwork and facilitate new employee setup.
- Oversee parts procurement activities by monitoring order status, tracking inventory shortages, and communicating estimated delivery timelines to appropriate personnel. Additionally, support parts deliveries and inventory movement as needed.
- Manage travel logistics, processing technician expense reports, and administrative records in support of project operations.
- Ensure the accuracy of project lifecycle information and provide timely, professional status updates.
- Demonstrate a professional and proper personal appearance at all times.
- Foster positive working relationships and effective communication with all internal and external customers and Caterpillar personnel.
- Attend daily meetings with the service management team to ensure that all parties are updated on work in progress and to update/maintain same in the management information system (DBS). Keep all stakeholders (data center team, product support management, customer) regularly updated on the status of commissioning, repair, and warranty service work.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required .
- Basic technical knowledge of Caterpillar and allied heavy equipment (mechanical systems, diesel engines/engine failures, electrical and hydraulic systems).
- Ability to read and comprehend computer-based schematics, specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, safety manuals, and other related publications.
- Good knowledge of and dedicated experience using dealer management information systems (DBS) and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficient verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Good problem-solving skills, detail oriented, and ability to work with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
- Ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced service environment.
