Job description

is seeking a to support a mission-critical enterprise data center environment. The Junior Data Center Operations Technician will work alongside senior engineers and technicians to support day-to-day data center operations including hardware installations, structured cabling, equipment lifecycle management, and basic infrastructure troubleshooting.

  • Rack, stack, cable, and install servers, storage systems, network equipment, and IT appliances
  • Perform structured cabling including copper and fiber optic cable installations, labeling, and cable management
  • Assist with equipment deployments, hardware refreshes, upgrades, relocations, and decommissioning activities
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, connectivity, and cabling issues while escalating complex technical issues to senior engineers
  • Document troubleshooting activities, equipment installations, and operational procedures
  • Support data center inventory management, asset tracking, and equipment organization
  • Follow established cabling standards, installation procedures, and data center best practices
  • Assist with incident response activities and support restoration efforts during infrastructure outages
  • Maintain clean, organized, and secure data center environments
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and systems teams to support enterprise IT operations
  • Adhere to change management processes and operational documentation standards

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience supporting data center operations, IT infrastructure, or hardware deployments

  • Experience installing, racking, cabling, or maintaining enterprise server and network equipment

  • Basic understanding of servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and structured cabling

  • Familiarity with copper and fiber optic cabling standards

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, switches, routers, and patch panels

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities

  • Ability to lift and install IT equipment in a data center environment

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Experience supporting enterprise or colocation data center environments

  • Familiarity with Windows Server, Linux, or VMware environments

  • Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or Jira

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, or similar industry certifications

  • Experience with asset management or data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools

Benefits & conditions

  • Salary: $90,000 - $115,000
