Job description
The Innovation & Technology Department is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to design, implement, and optimize enterprise cloud and SaaS architectures that support mission-critical organizational functions. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives in complex environments, excels at technical leadership, and is passionate about building secure, scalable, and high-availability systems. What You'll Do
As a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect you will:
- Provide Tier 3 support for assigned applications, troubleshooting data issues, configuration errors, and software defects.
- Collaborate with system architects and administrators to maintain and enhance infrastructure software.
- Manage vendor relationships to support new product implementation and resolve adaptation or defect issues.
- Define, develop, and document business requirements for complex systems and infrastructure projects.
- Create and execute test plans, analyze performance results, and implement improvements.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive systems capacity plan.
- Document existing architecture and recommend improvements or alternatives.
- Research emerging technologies and implement solutions that increase efficiency and flexibility.
- Develop and communicate strategic plans for systems investment, including cost-reduction opportunities.
- Generate performance statistics and reports for servers, storage, and related systems.
- Design and implement the Microsoft 365 G5 security stack including Conditional Access, Defender for Office 365, Purview, Information Protection, and zero-trust controls.
- Lead enterprise migration from Microsoft on-prem environments to Microsoft 365 G5.
- Monitor and optimize server and storage configurations, processes, and service records.
- Design and deploy VMs, storage allocations, and associated hardware.
- Conduct critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
- Evaluate incident trends and document the full problem-solving lifecycle.
- Record incidents, changes, and problems in call-logging systems.
- Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Participate in project teams and support off-hours work when needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Highly skilled in Microsoft 365 services, Azure AD, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation; results driven.
- Excellent ability to present ideas in business-friendly language.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Keen attention to details.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Familiarity with the advanced principles of ITIL.
- Highly skilled with software tools and utilities including, but not limited to Microsoft ® Project, Visio, PowerPoint and Office.
- Strong understanding of current industry standards, commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within the information technology industry.
- Strong knowledge of M365 G5 security and compliance features.
- Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of hardware and software systems, applications, and related products.
- Proven experience in overseeing systems planning, security principles, and general systems management best practices.
- Solid experience in overseeing testing, flowchart, and data mapping tools and procedures.
- Solid ability to be a positive and effective change agent.
- Solid ability to foster a work environment that promotes innovation and creative thinking., * Bachelor's Degree in the Information Technology field or 4 years of IT industry experience.
- 4 years direct work experience in a cloud solutions architect capacity.
- Technical certifications a plus.
