Job description

Support the development and delivery of advanced modeling and simulation capabilities by designing and maintaining secure, automated DevSecOps pipelines that enable rapid, reliable software deployment. Join a collaborative engineering team responsible for modernizing software delivery through containerization, infrastructure automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices supporting mission-critical defense systems.

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines that enable secure, repeatable, and automated software builds, testing, and deployment.
  • Develop and maintain DevOps infrastructure supporting distributed modeling and simulation environments.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using scripting and infrastructure automation tools.
  • Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker, Podman, and related container runtime technologies.
  • Collaborate daily with software developers, systems engineers, and test engineers to improve software integration, build reliability, and deployment efficiency.
  • Integrate automated unit, integration, acceptance, security, and code quality testing into the software development lifecycle.
  • Monitor CI/CD pipelines, application performance, and system health while proactively identifying opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and maintain secure credential, identity, and access management solutions supporting automated deployments and non-interactive service accounts.
  • Ensure configuration baselines, security controls, and compliance requirements are consistently applied across development, integration, and production environments.
  • Support Agile development teams by improving release velocity, deployment reliability, and overall software quality.
  • Document DevOps processes, automation workflows, and deployment procedures while contributing to engineering best practices.
  • Support occasional travel (up to 10%) to collaborate with program teams and support mission requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience; OR

  • Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience; OR

  • PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related experience.

  • Active, in-scope DoD Secret security clearance required at time of application.

  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines supporting automated software delivery.

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, or similar container runtimes.

  • Experience deploying and managing applications within containerized environments.

  • Experience integrating automated testing into software development pipelines.

  • Experience using DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, Bamboo, Jira, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Coverity, or comparable technologies.

  • Hands-on experience administering Unix/Linux operating systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting, automation, and scripting skills supporting software development and deployment.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% in support of program requirements.

  • Extensive experience administering Linux systems in production or production-like environments.

  • Strong proficiency with shell scripting and infrastructure automation.

  • Experience implementing automated software testing, static analysis, and security scanning within CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience working with virtualization technologies and hypervisor-based environments.

  • Experience implementing secure credential and identity management solutions, including service accounts, credential managers, Keycloak, or similar technologies.

  • Experience with Kubernetes container orchestration platforms.

  • Experience using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.

  • Experience supporting Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) development environments.

  • Experience implementing Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies using Gherkin, Cucumber, or similar testing frameworks.

  • Experience supporting secure software development within classified or mission-critical environments.
