Job description
We're a small group of people who genuinely like each other, work hard, and play hard. We're looking for the right person to join this team. The IT Operations Lead & Systems Administrator is a mid-level to senior role that blends operations leadership with hands-on technical work - not a role that supervises our existing consultants, but a leadership role built on serving them and the company. You'll work closely with the owner and alongside our on-site and remote support consultants, building the processes, tools, and structure that support their day-to-day work. You'll lead our PSA rollout, stay hands-on with systems and cloud administration, and help keep backups, security, and patching on track. It's all in service of one goal: helping us serve our clients even better., Supporting the team: Partner with and support our on-site and remote support consultants - removing friction, answering technical questions, and helping them do their best work.
-
PSA / ticketing: Lead the rollout and ongoing administration of HaloPSA - configure ticket queues, workflows, and reporting, and drive team adoption.
-
Process & documentation: Build, roll out, and enforce back-office processes: SOPs, client documentation, onboarding checklists, and recurring maintenance schedules.
-
Backup & security oversight: Own the process for tracking backup completion (MSP360), antivirus/EDR status (SentinelOne), and patch management across all clients - help make sure nothing gets missed.
-
Hands-on technical work: Jump into systems administration tasks, write and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation, and manage Entra ID (Azure AD) / Microsoft 365 environments.
-
Tooling integration: Get hands-on with our vendor stack - N-able, SentinelOne, Duo, MSP360, SonicWall, Ubiquiti/UniFi, Mail Protector, Dell, and Microsoft - and help tie those tools more tightly into our day-to-day workflow and the reports we produce for clients, so we're getting full value out of them.
-
AI strategy & security: Help us and our clients think through AI adoption thoughtfully - where it genuinely helps, and how to avoid security or data-privacy pitfalls along the way.
-
Client responsiveness: Help uphold our one-hour priority response standard for Network Wellness clients - the client doesn't need a fix in an hour, but they need to know we're on it.
-
Where you'll work: We don't have a company office, so this is a home-based role by default. Expect to be on Microsoft Teams video calls throughout the day to stay connected with staff and clients, with travel to client sites in metro Atlanta required from time to time for projects and in-person support., We're a small, tight-knit team where your work is visible and valued. You'll thrive here if you enjoy technology, find fulfillment in supporting and working with others, enjoy building processes and documentation from scratch, and can communicate clearly - we're a relationship-first company internally, not just with clients. You'll get real ownership over how we run our operations, and the chance to help shape the company as it grows. We also offer:
-
Paid vacation starting at 10 days/year, increasing with tenure, plus 3 paid sick days and 7 paid holidays (including Good Friday).
-
We don't have a company office, so you'll work from home as your default - with a stipend to help set up and maintain your home office.
Requirements
3-8+ years in IT support or an MSP environment - mid-level to senior candidates welcome; compensation scales with experience within the posted range.
-
A troubleshooter's mindset and intellectual humility - self-aware about the limits of your own knowledge.
-
Solid systems administration background - Windows Server, Active Directory - plus working knowledge of backup, antivirus/EDR, and patch management best practices.
-
Solid cloud administration background - Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Office 365, Google Workspace.
-
General network administration background - subnet knowledge and experience with VLANs are a plus.
-
Hands-on PowerShell scripting experience.
-
Experience with RMM tools and PSA/ticketing platforms.
-
Experience administering firewalls.
-
Comfortable and professional serving clients across our verticals, including Catholic churches, accounting firms, veterinary practices, nonprofits, and property management offices.
NICE TO HAVE
-
Experience with HaloPSA, SonicWall firewalls, Ubiquiti/UniFi networking equipment, N-able RMM, SentinelOne, Duo, and SSO management.
-
Prior experience at a small or boutique MSP, rather than a large corporate IT department.
