Job description
SERAC Inc is seeking an Application Engineer to support our sales process by working closely with the Pre-Sales Lead to understand customer needs, develop technical solutions, and demonstrate the value of our products and services. This role blends mechanical engineering, technical sales support, and customer engagement, and is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving problems and building relationships., * Assist in transitioning projects from opportunity generation to kickoff, ensuring a smooth handoff to Project Management
- Travel to customer sites to understand technical and business needs and plan project requirements with internal teams
- Generate AWS and quotes, conduct internal product tests, and oversee the test laboratory
- Evaluate container dimensions to determine optimal solutions
- Compile User Requirement Specifications (URS), develop initial machine layouts, and define solution costs
- Ensure documentation complies with ISO 9001 standards
- Assess risks of proposed solutions and maintain process adherence
- Represent the company at industry events and trade shows
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- Bachelor's degree + 3 years' experience, OR Associate degree + 5 years' experience, OR 8+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD systems
- Deep understanding of plant layout, technical drawings, and specifications
- Fluency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- French or Spanish language skills a huge plus (Not Required)
- Experience with CRM software
Physical Demands & Travel
Work is performed primarily in an office or climate-controlled warehouse, with time spent at remote customer locations. Out-of-town and overnight travel - local and international, by air and/or auto - is required. Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs and to bend, kneel, walk, sit, and reach above the head and below the knees for extended periods.

- Do you meet one of these: a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering (or related) + 3 years' experience, an Associate degree + 5 years, or 8+ years of relevant experience?
- How many years of hands-on experience do you have with 2D and 3D CAD systems, and which software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor)?
- Describe your experience creating technical documentation such as User Requirement Specifications (URS) or working to ISO 9001 standards.
