Job description
We are seeking a motivated Computer Support Associate I to provide day-to-day operational and IT infrastructure support across both office and factory floor environments. This hands-on role balances technical troubleshooting with essential asset administration following established procedures. The ideal candidate will manage desktop hardware, perform computer imaging, maintain factory printing/scanning equipment, and provide "smart hands" support for network and server teams. This position requires spending significant time on the manufacturing shop floor to ensure stable computing operations., * Hardware & OS Support: Manage onsite desktop hardware, complete computer imaging deployments, execute software updates, and troubleshoot end-user hardware issues.
- Peripherals & Shop Floor IT: Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize factory hardware including desktops, high-volume industrial scanners, and printers (replacing toner, pickup rollers, and components).
- Ticket Resolution: Resolve incoming technical service requests out of ServiceNow queues by leveraging Knowledge Base (KB) articles and documented resolution scripts.
- Smart Hands Support: Serve as local technical hands for remote enterprise server and network engineering teams during infrastructure outages.
- Asset Lifecycle Management: Maintain strict inventory logs, update electronic records within the Asset Center platform, handle exterior shipping orders, and coordinate the disposal of outdated hardware.
- Shop Floor Integration: Spend 50% or more hours out on the production plant floor troubleshooting manufacturing systems, responding with high urgency to critical shop-floor disruptions.
- Onsite Utility Driving: Complete provided safety training to operate site utility vehicles (such as a Gator) for moving hardware across the facility grounds.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; a degree in an Information Technology discipline (Bachelor's or Associate) is highly preferred.
- Core Competency: Foundational knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts.
- Technical Skills: Experience operating, updating, and repairing desktops, printers, and scanners. Proficiency using standard desktop applications (Microsoft Office Suite) and internet functions.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry IT equipment weighing between 30 to 50 lbs regularly, walk long distances across a factory, and wear required Metatarsal safety shoes on day one.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with factory operators, peers, and external vendor contacts.
- Note: Only US Citizens and Green Card Holders will be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available now, or in the near future., * 1 year or more of professional IT helpdesk or desktop support experience (highly motivated recent IT graduates will also be considered).
- Prior experience utilizing ServiceNow or similar ticketing and inventory systems.
- Basic understanding of corporate data security policies and compliance concepts.
