Job description

We are hiring a Hardware Systems Integration Engineer for our Platform Integration team. In this role, you will own the bring-up, integration, and validation of complex robotic hardware systems, ensuring electrical, mechanical, firmware, and subsystems operate reliably as one cohesive platform.

You will work hands-on with sensors, compute, power systems, harnesses, embedded controllers, drive systems, and thermal devices. You will define subsystem interfaces, build test setups, debug hardware/software integration issues, and verify platform readiness before validation, manufacturing, or mission use. You will report to the Autonomy Platform Lead on our Autonomy Platform Team at DoorDash Labs. We expect this role to be fully onsite., * Play an integral role on a small, focused team building robotic platforms from prototype through deployment readiness.

  • Support early integration of new hardware subsystem designs by defining electrical, mechanical, firmware interface requirements, integration risks, dependencies, and hardware validation checks.
  • Integrate and debug hardware interfaces across vehicle controls, power distribution, motion control, sensor systems, embedded platforms, and communication buses.
  • Develop physical test setups, bench rigs, diagnostic workflows, and wiring harnesses to exercise integrated robot subsystems.
  • Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, and bus diagnostic tools to root-cause electrical, timing, signal integrity, and communication issues.
  • Develop and execute validation procedures to stress-test integrated systems, including battery, drivetrain, thermal, sensor, and embedded controller subsystems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify edge cases and integration issues that impact platform safety, performance, and functionality.
  • Document integration procedures, test results, known issues, and platform readiness for downstream validation and manufacturing teams., At DoorDash, our mission to empower local economies shapes how our team members move quickly, learn, and reiterate in order to make impactful decisions that display empathy for our range of users-from Dashers to merchant partners to consumers. We are a technology and logistics company that started by enabling door-to-door delivery, and we are looking for team members who can help us go from a company that is known as the place you order food to a company that people turn to for any and all goods.

DoorDash is growing rapidly and changing constantly, which gives our team members the opportunity to share their unique perspectives, solve new challenges, and own their careers. We're committed to supporting employees' happiness, healthiness, and overall well-being by providing comprehensive benefits and perks including premium healthcare, wellness expense reimbursement, paid parental leave and more.
