Job description

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. We are looking for an engineer who thrives on solving difficult technical problems, designing scalable systems, and writing production-quality code. · Lead the migration of our DevExtreme/Knockout.js application to React.

· Design cloud-native solutions using Azure, microservices, and asynchronous messaging.

· Review pull requests, mentor engineers, and elevate engineering standards.

· Improve testing, CI/CD, observability, documentation, and performance.

· Evaluate and adopt AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve software quality and team productivity., Beyond technical expertise, you will be a great fit if you:

  • Think like an owner and take personal pride in the success of the product.
  • Take initiative to improve systems, processes, and code quality without waiting for permission.
  • Are excited by the opportunity to help build a growing company, not just complete assigned work.
  • Are naturally curious, continuously learning new technologies, and enjoy raising the baseline of the entire team.
  • Lead by personal example and through technical excellence.

Preferred Technical Experience

  • Experience with DevExtreme React Components and/or legacy Knockout.js.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or distributed caching (Redis).
  • SignalR or real-time communication technologies.
  • Active use of AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT) within daily engineering workflows.

Our Technology Stack

  • Backend: C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, Entity Framework Core, Microservices & Messaging.
  • Frontend: React, TypeScript, DevExtreme React, legacy Knockout.js (migrating).
  • Cloud & DevOps: Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD Pipelines, Docker (preferred).

Why Join Rebus?

  • Founder-Led, Engineering-First: Work directly with technical founders who remain actively involved in architecture, software development, product direction, and technical decision-making.
  • High Impact: Join a small, agile engineering team where your ideas, technical leadership, and code directly shape a platform that enterprise customers rely on every day.
  • Shape the Future: Help lead the modernization of a mature enterprise SaaS platform while building a company-not just shipping features.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year

Requirements

We care far more about demonstrated ability, ownership, and technical excellence than titles or years of experience. If you've built great software, enjoy solving hard problems, and want to help build an exceptional engineering team, we'd love to hear from you., · Demonstrated success designing, developing, and deploying enterprise SaaS applications using C# and .NET.

· Track record of leading complex technical initiatives from architecture through production.

· Strong experience with microservices, REST APIs, and asynchronous messaging.

· Deep hands-on experience building cloud-native solutions in Microsoft Azure.

· Strong SQL Server performance tuning and React/TypeScript development skills.
