Job description
- Configuration and implementation of the SEWS GCCS-J software and systems, GCCS-J courseware development, providing SEWS specific GCCS-J Operator training to US and FMS personnel, as well as system support to the local Colorado Springs, NATO, and various supported FMS locations.
- Collaborating with SEWS contractor and government personnel to plan OCONUS trips and stay apprised of Theater issues.
- Assisting with the design and analysis of user needs and associated hardware and software recommendations.
- Performing system support for remote users to identify and resolve hardware, software, and communication issues, document solutions, and develop recommendations to reduce the frequency of repairs.
- Responding to system outages to ensure issues are resolved per contract requirements
- Providing maintenance support for system / equipment issues.
- Supporting Emergency On-Site Sustainment (EOSS) travel to customer locations as required.
- Planning, developing and conducting GCCS-J Familiarization Training for CCMD and FMS customers.
- Providing refresher training for existing staff as well as training for new operators.
- Utilizing engineering skills to research, develop, test, and document solutions for Research & Test (R&T) activities.
Requirements
- BS degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working experience with GCCS-J version 6.0 and/or at least five (5) years of Windows and Linux systems administration experience.
- Strong knowledge of Server Operating Systems.
- Knowledge of virtualization concepts and products (VMware).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (AD) for user and groups.
- Knowledge of current Microsoft Operating Systems (Server & Workstation).
- Familiarity with Oracle/Sybase/Postgress database maintenance.
- Familiarity with Java application servers (Tomcat, JBoss).
- Familiarity with Linux/UNIX applications and services (NFS, SSH, NTP, LDAP, HTTP, Ansible)., * Must currently have and be able to maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP).
- The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
