Platform Engineer

This is a key role within the Cloud Infrastructure team, focused on the development, operation, and continuous improvement of an Amazon EKS-based Kubernetes platform. You will work closely with infrastructure, application, and data teams to ensure a secure, scalable, and reliable platform that enables efficient application deployment and operation.

• Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or similar role

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, preferably Amazon EKS

• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or OpenTofu

• Experience with container technologies and operating production-grade Kubernetes environments

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions

• Experience with GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD

• Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, RBAC, and security best practices

• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, ALB/NLB, and CloudWatch

• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar solutions

• Experience working in Agile environments

• Professional proficiency in English and fluency in either Dutch or French (mandatory)

HAYS IT is assisting one of their clients in their search for a freelance Platform Engineer (AWS EKS / Kubernetes). The consultant is expected to work full-time, with the office located in Brussels. The role requires an on-site presence of 3 days per week, combined with remote working flexibility.
