Job description

  • For several years now, the Flemish government has been actively working on the optimisation and rationalisation of the enormous amount of government information it manages. This also applies to Client, which is developing information management and use from an organisational development approach, in order to be able to further embed this structurally in the organisation.
  • In order to further realize this organizational change and structural anchoring, Client is looking for temporary support. The services of this assignment include the appointment of experts who are responsible for supervising and supporting the regular operation of information management. In addition, the experts must be committed to project-based coordination and support of ongoing information management projects. During the execution of the assignment, additional tasks may be assigned.
  • PowerBi expert: Within the information management team, continued support is required in terms of bowing PowerBi reports based on data that is accessed on an Azure data lakehouse platform in accordance with a medallion structure. This person will report to the information management expert and reporting expert and assist them in complex powerBI reporting issues. This person will also be able to think along with the data architect in the construction of the data architecture on the existing Azure data lakehouse platform.
  • Expertise in complex PowerBi issues and knowledge of Azure lakehouse and setting up pipelines, knowledge of cloud systems (Azure) and spatial databases (SQL server)
  • Good knowledge of business analysis
  • Knowledge of performance management to shape new use cases for data platform & reporting

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Power BI expert

  • Proven experience with data warehouse modeling

  • Demonstrable experience with project-oriented work and data warehouse modeling or a demonstrable education in data warehouse modeling

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in planning, designing and building a data warehouse application using tools such as Cognos or Datastage.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of Azure data platform techniques

  • Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR - level C2.

  • Proven experience with business analysis

  • Proven experience with Azure datalakehouse

  • Proven experience with Azure Fabric

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of data warehousing concepts, processes and architectures.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of building the following data warehouse components: data integration (ETL), reporting & analysis (BI), databases and metadata

  • Demonstrable knowledge of Agile development methodology

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medallion structure

  • Demonstrable knowledge of Agile development methodology

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medallion structure
